Kin Chan has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries.
Starting from 2008 to 2012, Kin worked as a Scheduling Assistant at California State University-Los Angeles.
From 2009 to 2012, Kin was a Bank Teller at Bank of America.
Kin then transitioned to a role at Unum as a Senior Disability Benefits Specialist from 2012 to 2017. Kin consistently exceeded expectations in customer service, timeliness, and accuracy, earning multiple company recognitions and awards. Kin also managed high-profile disability benefit accounts and conducted training sessions.
In 2018, Kin took on a Technical Mentor role at Galvanize Inc, where they delivered learning materials and lectures, conducted code reviews, and provided individual mentoring sessions to help students improve their technical skills.

From 2019 to 2021, Kin served as a Full Stack Software Engineer at DMAI. Kin leveraged microservice architecture, wrote and maintained authentication systems, and increased sales by 4% through A/B testing.
Starting in 2021, Kin joined Bright Health as a Software Engineer. Here, Kin decreased latency of a legacy GraphQL API, reduced the plan design process, and created a multi-format document generation and export feature.
Currently, Kin holds the position of Software Engineer at First Dollar since 2023.
Kin Chan attended California State University, Los Angeles from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. In 2018, they also completed a program in Computer Software Engineering at Hack Reactor.
