Sonja Scott, PHR has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Sonja began their career at AppleOne/Caremark as a Systems Coordinator/Technical Writing Coordinator, where they were responsible for communicating the status of new document postings, coordinating online meetings, and editing technical materials. Sonja then joined Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship as an Office Assistant to the Counseling Director and Singles Director, managing volunteers and assisting with administrative tasks. Sonja later worked at Kroger/America's Beverage Company, initially as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant, where they organized meetings and events, resolved benefit problems, and conducted phone screens for candidates. Sonja then transitioned to the role of Human Resources Assistant (Generalist), where they trained employees and presented HR policies and training. Currently, Sonja is working as a Human Resources Associate Director at First Baptist Dallas/KCBI, where they are responsible for conducting pre-interviews, coaching managers on interviewing methods, advising leadership on employee issues, and maintaining employee files. Sonja has also created HR documents, proposed policies for the employee handbook, managed the unpaid intern program, and assisted in interview investigations.
Sonja Scott, PHR has an MBA in Human Resource Management from Dallas Baptist University, which they obtained between the years 2006 and 2013. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown, graduating between the years 1999 and 2001. Sonja also holds a professional certification in PHR (Professional in Human Resources) from the HR Certification Institute, which they obtained in June 2010.
