Pawel Garbacki is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology and research. Currently serving as the Co-Founder and Researcher at Fireworks AI since November 2022, Pawel focuses on GenAI research, fine-tuning, alignment, multi-agent systems, and multi-modality. Previously, from October 2016 to November 2022, Pawel worked as a Principal Engineer at Facebook, specializing in News Feed Core Machine Learning. Prior to that, Pawel was a Software Engineer and Team Lead at Pinterest, contributing as a founding member of the Ads organization from March 2013 to October 2016. Early career experiences include roles as a Staff Software Engineer and Technical Lead at Google, and internships and research co-op positions at IBM T J Watson Research Lab. Pawel's academic credentials include a BSc and MSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Warsaw, an MSc in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a PhD in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
