Andy Tran has a diverse work experience in software engineering. Andy currently works as a Software Engineer at Firework since September 2021. Prior to that, Andy worked at ActivateStaff from October 2019 to July 2021. At ActivateStaff, they held positions as a Senior Software Developer and Full Stack Software Developer, where they worked on web and mobile applications for the staffing industry. Andy was responsible for building build pipelines, whitelabelling systems, and other infrastructure. Andy also organized code reviews and onboarded new engineers.

Before ActivateStaff, Andy was a Software Developer at Drop Mobility from July 2018 to July 2019, where they built full-stack features for a micromobility company using modern technologies like React, React Native, Node, and Postgres.

Additionally, they worked as a Software Developer at Leap Tools from November 2017 to May 2018, where they built a CRM and added features to their furniture visualizer web interface. Andy gained experience in UX research and UI design, focusing on creating a usable experience.

Andy's career in software engineering began with a Full-Stack Web Development Immersive program at Bitmaker from July 2017 to October 2017.

Before transitioning into the field of software engineering, they held positions at McMaster Students Union as a Manager from May 2016 to December 2016, and at McMaster University as an Outreach Coordinator for the Undergraduate Physics Society from March 2015 to April 2016. Andy also worked as a Physics Student Researcher at McMaster University from April 2014 to August 2014.

Andy Tran completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics at McMaster University from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, they enrolled in the Full-Stack Web Development Immersive program at General Assembly Canada. During the same year, they also pursued a Digital Marketing course at General Assembly Canada. Additionally, Andy obtained a certification in Google Analytics from Google in February 2017. Currently, they are focusing on Front End Web Development through the freeCodeCamp platform.
