Russell Wood is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within public service and emergency management. Currently serving as Deputy CE Service Delivery Operations and National Commander at Fire and Emergency NZ since March 2019, Russell is responsible for shaping the future direction and integrated capability plans of the organization. Previous roles include Deputy CE Strategic and Corporate Services at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, General Manager of Corporate Services at Maritime New Zealand, and various leadership positions within the NZ Fire Service. Russell holds multiple degrees in business and management, including an Executive Fellows Programme from ANZSOG and an Executive Fire Officer Programme from the US National Fire Academy, reflecting a strong commitment to public sector leadership and organizational development.
