Lia van der Vlugt, PhD, is an experienced educator and researcher specializing in biology and science. Since January 1996, Lia has been a teacher at Fioretti College Lisse, focusing on HAVO/VWO biology, Science, Life and Technology (NLT), and the Fio Academy for research and design. Lia has contributed to the tutoring and coaching of upper school and pre-university students at Leiden University and TU Delft, served on the pre-university advice board of Leiden University, and co-developed NLT modules. Prior research roles include positions at Wageningen University and the Laboratory for Flower Bulb Research, as well as BKD Bloembollenkeuringsdienst. Lia earned a PhD in Plant Virology from Wageningen University & Research and holds multiple degrees from Leiden University and College Leeuwenhorst.
