Rik Breur is an experienced professional in the field of antifouling and materials science, currently serving as CEO of Finsulate since October 2016, where management of the antifouling technology derived from Micanti Antifouling and Thorn-D is a key focus. Prior to this, Rik held the position of Managing Director at Micanti from 2005 to September 2016, overseeing the development of a patented non-toxic antifouling film, now integrated into the Finsulate brand. Additionally, Rik was a Managing Partner at Materials Innovation Centre BV, conducting research on environmentally friendly antifouling and anticorrosion technologies, and contributed to projects at Corus and TNO Industrial Technology. An extensive academic background includes multiple degrees in Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Corrosion and Antifouling Technology, and Materials Science from Delft University of Technology, culminating in a PhD in materials science and engineering.
