Mark Smith, MSc MEd FHEA, is an experienced sports educator and coach with a robust background in sports coaching and development. Currently serving as a Lecturer at Fife College since March 2015, Mark teaches various topics and manages HNC and HND coaching groups. In addition, Mark holds roles as a Tutor and Coach Developer for Scottish Athletics, delivering coach education courses, and as a Safeguarding Tutor for both Scottish Gymnastics and UK Athletics. Mark's past experience includes positions as Regional Development Manager for Badminton Scotland, Active Schools Coordinator for Renfrewshire Council, and various coaching roles in different sports. Mark's educational qualifications include a Doctor of Professional Practice in Sport and multiple advanced degrees in education and performance coaching. Notable awards include 2023 Fife College Teaching Team of the Year and FCSA Team of the Year for Women's Volleyball Coach.
