Hugo van der Steenhoven has a substantial background in transportation and sustainability, currently serving as an advisor for sustainable mobility and initiatives like Fietsen op Zuid and Smart Cycling Futures at Fietsersbond since September 2007. Prior experience includes being a member of the Raad van Toezicht at SWOV Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Verkeersveiligheid from January 2004 to 2013, as well as holding the position of Tweede Kamerlid for GroenLinks from May 1998 to May 2002, where Hugo focused on mobility and environmental issues. Additionally, Hugo served as Wethouder Verkeer en Milieu at the Gemeente Utrecht from 1994 to 1998. Hugo completed studies at HBO De Horst Driebergen.
