Tomas Rimkus has a diverse range of work experience in the field of basketball operations and management. Tomas began their career in 2004, working as a Commissioner/Observer for Euroleague Basketball until 2016. During this time, they also served as the Competition Director for the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) from 2005 to 2012.
In 2011, Rimkus took on the role of Competition Manager for the Local Organizing Committee of EuroBasket 2011. Tomas later joined the LOCOG in 2012 as the Basketball Field of Play Manager for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games.
Rimkus then transitioned to the Lithuanian Basketball Federation in 2013, where they served as the Sports and Events Director until 2016. Tomas also held the position of Refereeing Director for the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) from 2015 to 2016.
Since 2016, Rimkus has been with FIBA, where they have held several roles, including Manager, Senior Manager, and currently Coordinator - Global Referee Operations. As the Coordinator, they are responsible for overseeing global referee operations.
Tomas Rimkus pursued their education in journalism at Vilniaus universitetas (Vilnius University) from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, they studied history at Pace University from 1996 to 1997. It should be noted that no degree was mentioned for either of these educational experiences.
