Lazarov Valentin

Lazarov Valentin has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Lazarov started their career as a designer and expert at Glavproekt in 1954. Lazarov then worked as a chief civil engineer at the Municipality of Damascus from 1964 to 1970. Valentin went on to become the chief engineer at the Regional Design Institute Sofia from 1970 to 1978. Lazarov later served as the director of Design and Construction at the Union of Architects Bulgaria from 1978 to 1988. Valentin then worked as the general director at Interproject from 1988 onwards. Additionally, they have held various roles at FIBA, such as international FIBA instructor, official interpreter of FIBA international basketball rules, international FIBA commissioner, vice president of FIBA Europe Basketball Technical Committee, and international referee. Valentin has also served as the director of the International Academy of Architecture.

Lazarov Valentin's education history includes obtaining a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the State Politechnical University from 1949 to 1953. Lazarov also attended the High Committee for Physical Education and Sports from 1950 to 1952, where they pursued a degree in Persepective young sportsperson - basketball. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at the French College of Sofia from 1945 to 1948.

In addition to their formal education, Valentin has received several certifications and honors throughout their career. In 2013, they were inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. In 2012, they were recognized as an Honorary Citizen of Sofia by the Municipality of Sofia. In 1976, they were awarded the Golden whistle by FIBA. In 1972, they were honored with the title of FIBA Honorary Referee. Valentin also became an International basketball referee in 1950. Lastly, they hold the title of Honorary referee of Bulgaria, awarded by the Bulgarian Basketball Federation, although the exact date of obtaining this honor is not specified.
