Michael Mai began their work experience in 2015 as a Software Development Intern at Agilx. Michael then worked at Tecumseh Poultry LLC as an Application Developer from February to September 2016. Michael joined Buildertrend in September 2016 as an Application Developer I and later became an Application Developer II from September 2017 to March 2018. Michael then moved on to TEAM Software in April 2018, where they held the position of Software Engineer II until February 2022. During their time at TEAM Software, they designed and implemented new features and systems, led full-stack development and support for payroll calculations, and developed backend services for web and mobile applications. Michael joined Buildertrend again in March 2022 as an Application Developer III and continues to work there. In May 2023, they will start a new role as a Software Developer at FES.

Michael Mai began their education in 2011 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they studied Computer Science. It is not specified whether they completed a degree during their time at the university. From 2013 to 2015, Michael attended Southeast Community College and obtained an Associate's degree in Computer Programming.
