Meri Kähkönen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Meri began their career as a Part-time Sales Assistant at Instru Optiikka Oy in 2002. In 2003, they worked as a depot worker at the Finnish Defence Forces for a brief period. Later in the same year, they served as a Substitute Teacher for Haapajärven Kaupunki. In 2007, they worked as a Substitute Teacher at Helsingin kaupunki, Itäkeskuksen peruskoulu. From 2009 to 2010, they continued their Substitute Teacher role at helsingin yhteislyseo. In 2011, Meri worked as a Substitute Teacher at Viikin normaalikoulu.

In 2004, Meri joined Lidl Suomi and held multiple roles at the company till 2018. Initially, they worked as a sales person and shift manager before becoming an Assistant Shop Manager in 2012. Following their time at Lidl, they joined Ferratum Finland Oy in 2018 as a Customer Support Officer.

Currently, Meri is employed at Ferratum Group, where they started in 2019. Meri began as an Accountant trainee and later became an Accountant in August 2020.

Meri Kähkönen completed their education at the University of Helsinki, where they obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from 2000 to 2010 and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from 2000 to 2014. Prior to attending university, they completed their high school education at Iisalmen lukio from 1996 to 2000, where they earned their ylioppilastutkinto degree.
