William F. Detwiler

Bill is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Fernbrook Capital Management. Bill has been an advisor and investor in the consumer industry since 2003 and has over 25 years of finance, investing and legal expertise.

Prior to Fernbrook, Bill was a Managing Director at GLC Advisors & Co., an investment banking firm with offices in New York, Denver and San Francisco. Prior to GLC, he was the Chief Investment Officer of United Safety Ltd., a global provider of industrial safety services and equipment to many of the world’s largest energy companies. Bill developed and executed a global strategic growth plan, completed equity and debt recapitalizations, and implemented operational efficiencies across finance and administrative functions.

In 2003, Bill co-founded Watch Hill Partners, a New York-based merchant banking firm, where he advised and invested across the consumer and retail sector and other industries. After selling Watch Hill to FBR Capital Markets in 2009, Bill co-founded Three Ocean Partners, an investment banking firm based in New York. While at those firms, Bill led investments in Beautycounter, Tory Burch, OfficeTiger and other private equity and venture capital transactions. He maintains his Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses and is a registered representative at Wavecrest Securities LLC (member FINRA/SIPC), an unaffiliated entity of Fernbrook. Prior to starting Watch Hill, Bill was an M&A attorney in New York and Philadelphia, and a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Malcolm Muir of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He started his career at Price Waterhouse. Bill remains a member of the New York bar.

He holds the following degrees: B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Computer Science from Trinity College; J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law, where he was an Managing Editor of the Villanova Law Review; and Masters in Accounting from the University of Hartford.

At Fernbrook, Bill is on the boards of Shoptiques and Countable, and formerly on the boards of Perch, Baboon, Type:A Brands, and Wright.
