Esa Heinonen is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the engineering sector, currently serving at Fennovoima since October 2012. Previously, Esa held the position of Senior Engineer at ÅF-Consult Oy from May 2007 to September 2012, and worked as a Specialist in pressure equipment at Teknologiateollisuus ry for a brief period from May 2006 to April 2007. Esa also contributed as a Senior Consultant at Sweco PIC Oyj from October 2004 to April 2006, and as Section Manager for piping at Kemira Engineering Oy from January 1997 to September 2004. Earlier in the career, Esa worked as a Senior Engineer in piping at Projekti-insinöörit Oy (March 1995 - December 1996) and as a Development Engineer at Tampella Power Oy from March 1993 to February 1995. Key responsibilities have included the preparation of standard solutions for BFB boiler structures and processes, as well as conducting feasibility studies involving black liquor gasification.
