Whitney Danker Thurmond has a diverse work experience spanning multiple sectors. Whitney is currently working at Feeding America as the Senior Director of Learning & Engagement. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Digital Learning at Feeding America.
Before joining Feeding America, Thurmond worked at Vivayic as an Account Manager for six years. Whitney also had a role at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as the State Advocacy & Public Policy Director for a year.
Thurmond's early career includes working as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University and an Education Specialist at the National FFA Organization. Whitney also had experience working at the U.S. Department of Justice as a Paralegal Specialist.
In addition, Thurmond worked as a Conference Trainer & Facilitator at the National FFA Organization and as an Agriculture Committee Intern at the Oklahoma State Senate. Whitney also held a congressional internship at the U.S. House of Representatives.
Whitney Danker Thurmond has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Leadership and Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University, obtained from 2013 to 2014. Whitney also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agricultural Communications from Oklahoma State University, earned from 2004 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained a Change Management Certification from Cornell University in the period of 2019 to 2021, as well as a Coaching Certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in 2018 and a Certified Change Practitioner certification from Prosci in 2020. Additionally, they hold a Knowledge Management Certificate from the Association for Talent Development (ATD), which was obtained in 2022.
