Luanne came to the Fedcap School with a 30-year history in Newark, NJ as a Middle School Math Teacher, Vice Principal, and School Administrator. Luanne served the students and faculty of the Newark Public School system until her retirement in May 2014.
Luanne quickly realized that retirement was not for her and applied for and was hired as the Principal of the Fedcap School. She loves the work with the students and has built the school into a thriving state-of-the-art educational environment for children and youth with varying types of disabilities. The school has tripled in size thanks to Luanne’s energy, innovation, and ability to create strong relationships with sending school districts in the area.
Luanne and her team provide high-quality educational services and opportunities for the 65+ students that attend the school each year. 100% of the students graduate with a New Jersey High School Diploma. 60% go on to post-secondary education and 40% of graduating students go directly into employment.
