Simon Rezene is an experienced Inter-cultural Mediator currently with Fedasil since October 2022, where responsibilities include guiding and supporting asylum seekers and facilitating information sessions to enhance their autonomy and understanding of the asylum procedure. Prior roles encompass work as an Interpreter/Translator at Bruxelles Accueil VZW, focusing on asylum procedures, medical needs, and social consultations, as well as project work with the IOM - UN Migration, where Simon conducted skill assessments and pre-departure medical check-ups. Additional experience includes serving as a Cultural Mediator at the European Asylum Support Office and as a Social Worker with Eta Beta Società Cooperativa Sociale. Simon began a career in education as a high school teacher in Eritrea after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Asmara.
