Sean W. has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and application security. Sean started their career in 2006 as a Software Developer at Business Connexion, where they worked until 2007. Sean then moved on to 2Cana Solutions and Acumen Software as a Software Developer and Senior Java Developer, respectively.

In 2009, Sean joined Forcelink Solutions Ltd. as a Senior Java Developer, and in 2010, they worked as a Systems Engineer at Yell Adworks Ltd.

Sean's career took a turn towards application security when they joined Secureworks in 2011. Sean initially worked as a Software Development Engineer and then transitioned to a Senior Software Security Engineer, where they acted as a subject matter expert on application security and performed security testing. Later on, they took on a role as a Lead Software Security Engineer, where they provided technical guidance and coaching to their peers.

In 2020, Sean joined Immersive Labs as a Principal Application Security SME, where they continued to specialize in application security. Their most recent position is as a Principal Application Security Engineer at Featurespace, where they currently work.

Sean W. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Science from the same university. Sean also holds various certifications as a contestant in the Global OSINT Search Party CTF, obtained from Badgr (now part of Instructure) and Badgr.
