Kimmo Haapasalo has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kimmo began their career as a Professional Track Athlete, competing in sprints and 400 hurdles for over 10 years. Transitioning into the corporate world, they held positions such as CFO at Naantalin kaupunki, Product Manager at Kuntamaisema Oy, CSO at Mediradix Oy, and Development Manager at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities. Kimmo currently serves as Vice President of Management and Finances at FCG Finnish Consulting Group, alongside their ongoing role as Project Director within the same company.

Kimmo Haapasalo completed their M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Jyväskylä in 2006. Kimmo also studied Sport Pedagogy at the same university in 1999. Additionally, they attended Kastellin urheilulukio from 1995 to 1997 and participated in an exchange program at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2003-2004.
