Julian Heathcote Hobbins has a long and distinguished career in the legal field, beginning in 1995 as a Paralegal at Beachcroft Stanleys and Ashurst Morris Crisp. Julian then moved to Theodore Goddard Solicitors (now Addleshaw Goddard) in 1998, where they worked on Anti Copying In Design (ACID) matters. In 2000, they became a Trainee Solicitor at Field Seymour Parkes Solicitors. In 2001, they joined FAST - Federation Against Software Theft, where they held the roles of Director, General Counsel FAST & Deputy Chairman of FAST Lawyers Group (FLAG), and Senior Legal Counsel. In 2010, they became a Governance Board Member at the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), and in 2011, they were appointed Director of the Intellectual Property Awareness Network. In 2020, Julian Heathcote Hobbins became Legal Counsel, License Compliance EMEA at Autodesk.
Julian Heathcote Hobbins attended St Bartholomew's School Newbury before going on to the University of Kent, where they earned a B.A. (Hons) Law and Social & Economic History with a focus on Law, Economics, History, and Anthropology. Julian then went on to the Colleage of Law (Guildford) to complete Post Grad Diplomas in law, with a focus on CPE & LPC.
