Lucia Panichella is an experienced professional in social work and community services, currently serving as the Director at West Newton Family Navigation Center with FamilyAid since March 2024. Prior to this role, Lucia worked with JFS of Metrowest from 2004 to March 2024, where responsibilities included Senior Director of Programs & Partnerships, as well as Director of Immigrant and Youth Services, overseeing various programs supporting youth and immigrant populations. Key achievements involved managing a refugee resettlement program, citizenship assistance initiatives, and partnerships with local schools. Early career experience includes roles as a Substitute Teacher for Boston Public Schools and an intern at Primary Source, where Lucia focused on educational outreach about underrepresented groups. Lucia holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Tufts University.
