Micaela Fernandez Allen is the Director of US Advocacy at Open Society Foundations since February 2020, bringing extensive experience in public policy and advocacy. Micaela also acted as Advisor to Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the U.S. House of Representatives, managing bipartisan events and logistics for international trips from August 2002 to February 2009. Micaela's career began as a Staff Assistant to US Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald, providing comprehensive support and engaging in various legislative activities. Micaela holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Journalism, and Political Science from Ohio University, earned between 1998 and 2002.
