Laura Margaret Smith is an accomplished opera singer and music educator with extensive experience in various prestigious organizations. Since June 2015, Laura has performed as an opera singer at the Bayreuther Festspiele and has also contributed as a professional singer at the Edinburgh International Festival since February 2016. Laura serves as a musicianship lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a professional singer with Scottish Voices since September 2010. Additional teaching roles include a singing teacher at Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools and a musicianship tutor at both the Portobello Music School and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Laura's musical background is enhanced by a long tenure with NYCOS since September 2004, where roles have included conductor, musicianship tutor, and accompanist. Educational credentials include a Master of Music in Opera from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
