Sean Read is an experienced leader in homeless services, currently serving as the Director for Homeless Services at Fairfax County Government, a role initiated in July 2024. Previously, Sean held several key positions at Friendship Place from March 2011 to June 2024, including Vice President of Regional Programs, Chief Program Officer of Community Solutions, and Division Director of Welcome Center Services, overseeing significant program operations totaling over $24 million annually. Sean’s early career included roles focused on veteran services and supportive housing, complemented by a solid educational background, including a Master of Science from Virginia Tech and additional credentials in trauma-informed care and nonprofit financial management.
