Maggie Riden has extensive experience in advocacy, strategic advising, and leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Senior Vice President of Advocacy at Fahe, where they lead the organization's advocacy and governmental relations efforts. In this role, they work with a diverse team and 50+ nonprofit organizations to inform national, regional, state, and local policies and funding related to housing and community development. Prior to their current position, Maggie worked as a Strategic Advisor, supporting nonprofits, small businesses, and philanthropy in developing actionable strategies for growth and impact. Maggie has also held leadership positions at the DC Alliance of Youth Advocates, first as the President and CEO and later as a Senior Policy Analyst. Additionally, Maggie has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Youth Collaboratory and gained research experience as a Research Assistant at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. Maggie began their career as an Education Coordinator at Communities for People, Inc., where they facilitated coordination between state welfare agencies and public school systems, provided training, and ensured compliance with education policies. Maggie later became the Program Director of the Rediscovery Independent Living Program at Rediscovery, a Division of the Justice Resource Institute, where they oversaw program development, management, and funding compliance for a foster care youth transitional program.
Maggie Riden attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations. Maggie then pursued further education at Mount Holyoke College from 2000 to 2002, where they completed a Five College Consortium Certificate in International Relations with a focus on Human Rights and International Organizations. Finally, from 2007 to 2009, Maggie attended The Fletcher School at Tufts University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Law and Diplomacy with a specialization in International Relations.
