David Gairdner is a seasoned researcher and consultant with extensive experience in conflict-affected and fragile states. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the Fafo Institute for Applied International Studies since January 2012, David has focused on aid effectiveness and multi-donor funding arrangements. Prior to this role, David was a Senior Partner at Scanteam for eight years, contributing to projects in transitional economies. David also held the position of Director of Programmes at the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre, managing significant research and training initiatives. Earlier in the career, David managed the Fund for Public Policy Research in Guatemala, promoting civil society involvement in the Guatemala Peace Accords. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in International Relations from York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The University of British Columbia.
