Ricardo Ibarra

Data Engineer at Factored

Ricardo Ibarra began their career in 2018 as a Maintenance Intern at Drummond Ltd. Ricardo then was promoted to Maintenance Clerk in 2019, where they optimized inventory for a multinational coal mining company through analysis of transfers between warehouses using Pandas, and developed a text classifier using TensorFlow to assign codes based on descriptions of failures. In 2021, they joined Quantica BPO as a Business Analyst for TracFone Wireless, Inc., where they developed reports on customer churn trends based on various criteria (e.g. state, plan type, device, age) for brand managers of a telecommunications company to provide insights and inform customer retention strategy. Currently, they are a Data Engineer at Factored, where they generate automated reports from API data using Python, AWS Lambda, Docker, AWS S3, AWS DynamoDB, AWS SNS, and AWS Step functions. Ricardo also leverages Python, Spark, and Glue to manipulate data across data lakes.

Ricardo Ibarra holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad del Norte, obtained in 2019. Ricardo is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Analytics at Universidad de Los Andes, expected to be completed in 2023. Ricardo has also obtained various certifications, including a Machine Learning Scientist with Python certification from DataCamp in 2021, an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2022, and a dbt Fundamentals certification from dbt Labs in 2022.
