Derek Troy-West has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Derek is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Factor House, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to that, they were the Founder and CEO of Troy-West, where they specialized in delivering highly available and scalable streaming-compute platforms for leading clients in Australia and New Zealand. Derek also worked as a Consultant at UBS Investment Bank, e2x Limited, Fortis Bank, Fidelity Investments, and Practiv, where they held various roles ranging from Consultant to Senior Developer and Technical Project Manager. Derek began their career as a Developer at Telecom New Zealand.

Derek Troy-West earned a BSc. degree in Computer Science from The University of Auckland, where they studied from 1997 to 2000.
