Charu Jain, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of biochemistry and drug discovery. Charu is currently employed as a Scientist in Drug Discovery at F-star Therapeutics, Inc. where they started in 2022. Previously, from 2016 to 2022, they worked at The Ohio State University as a Graduate Research Associate and a Graduate Teaching Associate. During their time at The Ohio State University, they successfully designed and generated positional libraries of an RNA binding protein, optimized high-throughput expression and purification protocols, and identified amino acids responsible for protein binding. Charu also optimized expression and purification protocols for notch ligands, established a mammalian expression system, and mentored students in experiment design and lab techniques. Prior to their role at The Ohio State University, they worked as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Science in 2015. In 2014, they served as a Research Scholar at the University of Minnesota, where they synthesized a tetra acetylated histone peptide and optimized expression and purification protocols for a protein called Bromodomain. In 2013, they worked as a Summer Intern at the National Chemical Laboratory.
Charu Jain, Ph.D. received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University. Charu pursued their Ph.D. degree from 2016 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a BS-MS Dual Degree from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. Their dual degree, completed between 2011 and 2016, focused on Chemistry (major) and Biology.
