Lei Jin, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Engineer at ExxonMobil, where since July 2018, Lei has been leading the development of GIST, an innovative toolkit for modeling injection- and production-induced geomechanical responses and seismicity risk mapping. Prior experience includes an R&D internship at Total, where Lei developed a numerical model for injection-induced rupture, and a geophysics internship at EOG Resources, where Lei pioneered a multi-scale discrete fracture network modeling workflow. As a visiting geomechanicist at OMV, Lei created a computerized method for determining in-situ stress and rock strength in the Vienna Basin. Lei holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Stanford University and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Tongji University.
