Joseph Rock currently serves as the Chief People & Performance Officer at Exxaro Resources since November 2023. Previous roles include Group Head: People Experience and Chief Operating Officer: HR at Absa Group (February 2018 - October 2023) and Non Executive Director at The Shoprite Group of Companies (April 2012 - November 2022), where Joseph also chaired the Remuneration Committee and was a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. Earlier experience includes General Manager: Exxaro Services at Exxaro Resources (April 2011 - December 2017), Group Executive: Large Business Centre at the South African Revenue Service (October 2004 - March 2011), and Associate Director: Transfer Pricing and International Tax at PwC (September 1998 - October 2004).
