Dumisani Dube has a diverse work experience in the mining and metallurgy industry. Dumisani began their career at Tongaat Hulett as a Development Technician in 1999. Dumisani then worked at TICOR SA from 2000 to 2007, where they served as an Acting Plant Head and Plant Metallurgist, overseeing the commissioning of the Mineral Separation Plant and managing two plants.
Dumisani Dube then joined Exxaro Resources in 2007, first working as a Metallurgist before being promoted to Head of Operations at the Grootegeluk mine - Coal beneficiation. In this role, their responsibilities included commissioning a new coal beneficiation plant and maintaining a good client relationship with Eskom. Dumisani'swork specifically focused on supplying approximately 14 million tons of coal to the Medupi power station.
Dumisani Dube's education history begins in 2000 when they enrolled in the Durban University of Technology to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering, which they completed in 2003. In 2013, they attended the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria and completed a Management Development Programme. In 2015, Dumisani pursued an Advance Coal Preparation course at the same university. Finally, in 2018, they joined the University of the Witwatersrand to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering with a focus on Metallurgical Engineering, which they completed in 2019.
