Michael LaPorta is a Partner and Head of Americas at Exusia. As a Partner, he is responsible for oversight of the firm’s client delivery responsibilities in the Americas region. Michael is also the founder of Exusia’s Data Strategy & Assessment, DevOps/Quality Assurance (QA) Automation, and Cloud practices and is a core member of Exusia global deal review team, where he is responsible for end-to-end solution architecture, delivery oversight, and quality assurance across client verticals. With 15+ years of experience as a technical architect, Michael offers competencies across all functional components of data management, including ETL processing, data persistence, data visualization, and information distribution.
Michael’s primary technical expertise lies within the Ab Initio product suite including Co-Operating System, GDE, EME, Conduct>It, Operational Console, Continuous Flows, and Meta-programming. Michael also possesses deep subject matter expertise in financial instrument data structures such as Capital Markets Reference Data, Pricing, and Corporate Actions. Data providers he has previously interfaced with include Bloomberg, Reuters, S&P, Telekurs, IDC, and MarkIT.
Prior to Exusia, Michael was a Director at Incandescent Technologies (ITI). During this time, he was responsible for the end-to-end implementation of a global pricing master for Citigroup as the firm’s lead solution architect and delivery manager. He also initiated and delivered on ITI’s first global delivery solution that leveraged offsite Ab Initio resources from India. Before ITI, Michael worked as a Technology Consultant at Knightsbridge Solutions (HP). In this role, he designed and developed numerous large-scale data applications, delivered enterprise client solutions, and served as the principal interface to various business stakeholders. Aside from conducting activities as a senior technical architect, Michael has also spent much of his career establishing and facilitating custom developer training programs for less experienced team members and consultants.
Michael graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Information Engineering. In addition to Ab Initio, Michael is proficient with an array of technical data integration tools, including IBM DataStage, Informatica, and SQL Server SSIS.
Michael is an active contributor to the Hoboken Grace Community Church and Dana-Farber Institute for Cancer Research. He also volunteers for a local charity sports league to support the Boys & Girls Club of Hudson County and Comfort Zone Bereavement Camp for Children.
