Dr. Ewa Jaruga-Killeen joined EXUMA Biotech as Director of North America Clinical Operations in June 2020. From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Jaruga-Killeen was Director of CSO Programs at Intrexon Corporation, managing cross-divisional research operations across multiple sectors. Most recently she led clinical operations and regulatory affairs for a majority-owned subsidiary developing advanced gene-device combination therapies for cardiovascular disease. From 2011 to 2013, Dr. Jaruga-Killeen was at Orlando Health, where she oversaw critical care research commercialization in the Medical Education and Training Center. Previously Dr. Jaruga-Killeen was an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, having mentored interdisciplinary research teams in clinical and pre-clinical projects promoting evidence-based medicine with a focus on applied physiology, molecular cell biology, biophysics, and statistics. Dr. Jaruga-Killeen earned her Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and M.Sc. in molecular biology from the University of Lodz in Poland. She completed postdoctoral research at the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium advancing adenoviral gene therapies for urological cancers. Dr. Jaruga-Killeen is RAPS certified for the global regulation of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, including biologics and combination products, as well as the management of US clinical trials, risk management, ethics, and GCP.
