Daniel Borlean

Senior Consulting Engineer at ExtraView

Daniel Borlean has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Daniel started their career in 1996 as a Network Engineer Assistant at NASA Ames Research Center, where they gained expertise in networking concepts and developed engineering skills. During their time there, they also wrote network monitoring scripts in Perl and Expect and created a web-based viewer of Wellfleet router configurations.

In 1997, Daniel joined Sterling Software as a Network Engineer, where they led a group of interns, wrote an Expect script for multi-password changes on network devices, and contributed to the documentation of the LAN Administration Guide.

From 1999-2000, they worked at DigitalSquare, Inc as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for distributing content using BackWeb push technology, wrote server design and engineering plans, and maintained and implemented new features for a custom Transaction Server.

Daniel then moved on to DASCOM, Inc in 1999 as a Technical Support Engineer, where they performed testing plans and documented the integration of third-party products with the IntraVerse flagship product.

In 2001, Daniel worked at Ensim Corporation as a Member of Technical Staff, where they wrapped and configured Linux and Solaris applications for use on the ServerXchange hosting platform.

At Raytheon, they worked as a PKI Software Engineer from 2001-2004, conducting research, testing, and development of PKI products, administering a secure list server for email messages, and managing development lab server systems.

From 2004 onwards, Daniel joined ExtraView Corporation as a Senior Consulting Engineer. In this role, they served in various project roles, including requirements gathering, analysis and project design, site configuration and installation, software development, data migrations, customer mentoring and training. Daniel also managed client relationships and collaborated with colleagues to implement client-specific solutions and resolve product issues.

Overall, Daniel Borlean has a strong technical background in software development, networking, and PKI, along with experience in project management and customer relationship management.

Daniel Borlean attended West Valley College from 1995 to 1997, where they studied Computer Science. Daniel then continued their education at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1997 to 1999, earning a B.S in Computer Science.
