Jody Smith, MD, is a highly experienced professional in the field of trauma and surgical critical care. Currently serving as a Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care specialist at Extant Healthcare since November 2022, Jody previously held the position of Associate Trauma Medical Director at Chippenham Hospital within the CJW Medical Campus from November 2021 to May 2022. Jody also directed the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Chippenham Hospital and completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Memorial Health Savannah from 2020 to 2021. Prior to these roles, Jody gained significant experience as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon with Envision Physician Services and EmCare from 2016 to 2020 and served as Chief Surgical Resident at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 2010 to 2015. Educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from Texas Tech University.
