David E. Kanter

David E. Kanter, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of education. David E. is currently serving as the Head of Science Solutions at ExploreLearning since 2022. Prior to this, they founded and served as the Principal of Kanter Learning Design & Research since 2013, where they focused on designing innovative science and engineering learning environments, conducting research studies, and securing grants.

David E. also worked as the Chief Product Officer at Argos Education from 2021 to 2022, leading a seed-stage startup aimed at improving the quality and affordability of student-centered course materials. As the Director of Education at the Alliance for Decision Education from 2020 to 2021, they played a key role in education management.

During their tenure at Calvert Education from 2017 to 2020, they held multiple roles including Senior Vice President of Strategy & Innovation and Chief Academic Officer & Senior Vice President of Curriculum. At 100Kin10, they served as the Founding Director of Research & Innovation, where they focused on teaching partner organizations about continuous improvement and improvement science. David E. also worked as a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher at Google in 2015, shaping the usability and improvement of Google Classroom and Google Play for Education.

Additionally, they served as the Director of Research at Amplify, where they established and managed research functions within the company. David E. also has experience at the NY Hall of Science as the Founding Director of R&D Center for Play, Science, and Technology Learning (SciPlay), and as an Assistant Professor at Temple University, where they taught science education courses.

David E. Kanter, Ph.D. earned their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (SEAS) and Bachelor of Science in Economics (Wharton) from the University of Pennsylvania. David E. then went on to complete their Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, they participated in Cohort 5 of the Noyce Leadership Institute.
