Chris Johnson has a wealth of experience in the publishing industry. In 2012, they began as Co-Editor at In/Words Magazine & Press. In 2013, they became a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University. From 2014-2016, they were Managing Editor and Coordinating Editor at Arc Poetry Magazine. In 2016, they took on a role as a Freelance Writer (Web Media) at ExpertFile. Most recently, in 2023, they became a Contract Instructor for ENGL 4135 - B: Studies in Publishing at Carleton University. This iteration of the course is called "Editing and Producing a Literary Magazine," and Chris is responsible for designing, editing, and producing a new Carleton publication, Sumac Literary Magazine, connected with Carletonās Creative Writing program.
Chris Johnson obtained a Bachelor of the Arts in English from Carleton University between 2009 and 2013. Chris then went on to receive a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English Language and Literature, General from Carleton University between 2013 and 2014. In April 2022, they obtained a Marketing Masterclass Certificate of Completion from WorkInCulture.
