Alejandro Perez-Vicente

Alejandro Perez-Vicente has a diverse work experience in software engineering and research roles. Alejandro currently works as a Software Engineer at Expedera Inc. since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Intern at Expedera Inc. in the field of DL Compilers from June 2022 to August 2022.

Before joining Expedera Inc., Alejandro worked at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Alejandro served as a Teacher Assistant for Digital System-on-Chip Design from August 2021 to December 2021. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Multimedia Communications Lab from February 2022 to August 2022, where they developed Camera-LiDAR sensor fusion algorithms for autonomous vehicle perception and optimized transformers for Camera-LiDAR processing on GPU architecture. Alejandro also worked as a Research Assistant at the Embedded Computing & Signal Processing Lab from October 2021 to August 2022.

Alejandro's earlier work experience includes a role as a Research Fellow at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from October 2020 to September 2021, where they worked on deep learning compilers and configurable hardware accelerators for 3D computer vision problems on low power system architectures. Alejandro also worked as a Research Assistant at the Center of Industrial Electronics from January 2020 to September 2020, where they developed 3D reconstruction algorithms for point cloud representations using deep learning frameworks.

Lastly, Alejandro has experience as a Software Engineer Intern at NTT DATA from September 2019 to December 2019.

Alejandro Perez-Vicente earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Systems Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2020. From 2016 to 2020, they attended this university and completed their undergraduate studies in an ABET accredited program. Following their bachelor's degree, Alejandro pursued further education and enrolled in a Master of Science program in Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2020 to 2022. This program was also ABET accredited, and their field of study focused on Electronics and Systems Engineering. Starting in 2021, Alejandro continued their academic journey at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Their current studies at Illinois Institute of Technology are focused on the field of Computer Architecture & HW Acceleration.
