Adel Afiouni has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Adel is currently serving as the Partner and Head of Europe and Middle East at Exos, a challenger institutional finance platform. In this role, they are responsible for managing the company's operations and overseeing its expansion in the European and Middle Eastern markets.
Prior to joining Exos, Adel worked as a Senior Advisor in Banking, Investments & Finance for various international financial institutions.
Adel also served as the Minister of State for Investments & Technology in the Council of Ministers of Lebanon from 2019 to 2020.
Adel has a long history with Credit Suisse, where they held several high-level positions. Adel was the Head of Emerging Markets Client Group Global Markets EMEA from 2015 to 2018. Before that, they served as the Head of EMEA Investors Solutions and Placement from 2011 to 2014. Adel also held the position of Co-Head of CEEMEA Sales from 2010 to 2011 and Head of MENA Financing Coverage and Head of MENA Global Securities from 2008 to 2011. Adel started their career at Credit Suisse as the Head of MENA Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives Sales from 1999 to 2007.
Prior to their time at Credit Suisse, Adel worked at BNP Paribas as the Head of MENA Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives Sales from 1997 to 1999. Adel also worked as an Interest Rates Derivatives and Exotics Trader at BNP Paribas from 1994 to 1997.
Adel Afiouni earned a Master's degree in Engineering from École Polytechnique from 1990 to 1994. In addition, from 1992 to 1993, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Télécom Paris. During the same period, they also obtained another Master's degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
