Halesha Basavarajappa is a seasoned scientist with a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently serving as Senior Scientist 2 at Exelixis since August 2020, Halesha has previously held the positions of Senior Scientist and Scientist at the same organization. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at City of Hope, where research focused on identifying and characterizing proteins and pathways involved in pancreatic beta cell apoptosis related to diabetes, and as an Assistant Research Scientist at AstraZeneca, contributing to drug discovery efforts against tuberculosis. Halesha holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Indiana University School of Medicine, alongside a Master's degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Bangalore University.
