From 1986 to 1991, Jina Swartz studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, earning an MB BCh degree. Following this, from 1996 to 1999, they pursued a MSc Med (Neuro) degree in Neurology at the same university.
Continuing their academic journey, Jina Swartz attended the University of Cambridge from 1998 to 2001, acquiring a PhD in Medical Genetics.
