Maarten Braspenning currently serves as SVP of Bioinformatics & Data Science at Excelra since April 2023. Prior to this role, Maarten was the CEO of BISC Global from February 2017 to March 2023 and held the position of Director of Commerce & Operations at NXT-Dx between July 2011 and September 2019. Maarten also contributed to Genohm as a Business Development professional from September 2011 to May 2012 and worked as a Business Developer at NXT GNT / UGent from May 2010 to July 2011. Earlier experience includes serving as a Business Manager at Altran (June 2008 - May 2010), completing an in-company project for Tessenderlo Chemie in 2008, and working as a thesis student at Bayer Cropscience (August 2006 - May 2007). Maarten holds a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering - Biotechnology from Ghent University (2004 - 2007) and a Bachelor’s degree in Bioscience Engineering from the University of Antwerp (2002 - 2004). Education was furthered at Vlerick Business School (2007 - 2008).
