Jeremy Smillie has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Their most recent role was as the Vice President of DevSecOps at Exact Payments, where they led and managed the DevSecOps team. Prior to that, they held positions such as Sr. Director of Security and Director of Security at the same company.

Before joining Exact Payments, Jeremy was the CEO of Vancubers, a coworking space that focused on fostering community and collaboration among professionals. Jeremy also co-founded and worked as the CTO at MobiBlossom Solutions Inc., a software development company.

Jeremy has extensive experience in the field of security, having worked as a Security Systems Analyst at E-xact Transactions and an Enterprise Security Consultant at Scalar (Pacific Blue Cross). Jeremy has also worked as a Systems Consultant at MobiBlossom Solutions (Ivy Green Husky) and a Senior Network / Systems Administrator at Sanef ITS Technologies.

Early in their career, Jeremy worked as a Senior IT Specialist at Infonet Technology, where they managed Windows Domain network architecture and supported a large number of workstations and servers. Jeremy also has experience in production management as a Production Manager at Montalco Custom Cabinets and as a Supervisor at Sauder Industries Moldings and Millwork Door Division.

Jeremy Smillie received a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2006. Jeremy then pursued an Associate's Degree in Network Administration from the same institute, completing it in 2009. In 2010, Jeremy obtained a Certificate in A+ from COMP TIA, followed by a Certificate in CompTIA Network+ from the same institution in 2011. In the same year, they also earned a Certificate as an Entry Networking Technician from Cisco. Finally, in 2013, Jeremy acquired a Cisco CCNA Certificate in Network.
