Rich Simmonds

Design Director at EX.CO

Rich Simmonds has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Rich is currently working at EX.CO as the Director of Product Marketing, where they are responsible for building product marketing strategy and campaigns for the EX.CO platform. Prior to that, they co-founded Bibblio and served as the Co-Founder and CXO. In this role, they were responsible for the customer experience, brand, and design ethos across Bibblio's tools and platform. Bibblio was later acquired by EX.CO.

Before their time at Bibblio, Simmonds was a Cohort Member at Emerge Education, a leading edtech seed stage investor in Europe. Rich was also a Senior UX and Creative Designer at AOL Platforms, where they served as the principal strategic designer and user experience expert for their video products in the EMEA region.

Simmonds has an extensive background in design as well. Rich worked as a Senior Designer at Mediatel, where they were responsible for design output across all group brands. Rich also worked as a Senior Designer (Contract) at Weblogik, where they handled web, interactive media, and print-based projects for the company and its clients. Additionally, they had contract roles as a Senior Designer at Heywood Innovation in Sydney, Australia, and as the Founder of RnR Design.

Simmonds began their career as the Head of Creative Development at IPPLUS PLC, where they were the principal designer for the core project team and managed a team of five designers. Rich also had responsibilities such as client liaison for over 400 websites and tutoring digital undergraduates on work placement.

Overall, Simmonds has extensive experience in product marketing, customer experience, design, and leadership roles in the technology and media industry.

Rich Simmonds attended the University of Plymouth from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Art and Technology.
