Jim Houlette started their career in 2001 as a Structural Engineer at Martin Design. Jim then worked as an Associate Structural Engineer at MNA, Inc. from 2003 to 2009. In 2009, they joined EVstudio where they served as the Director of Structural Engineering, providing structural engineering services for residential and commercial projects. Jim was later promoted to Principal and Director of Structural Engineering in 2017 at the same company.

Jim Houlette attended Purdue University from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering. In addition to their degree, Jim has obtained several certifications as a Licensed Professional Engineer. These certifications are from the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, Colorado, and Texas, as well as from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
