Matthias Mertens has extensive work experience at EVS Broadcast Equipment. From July 2011 to December 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer, developing a new application based on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) using .NET Core. Matthias also worked as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2020 onwards, where they developed a single page application based on an event sourcing SOA architecture. In addition, Matthias served as a Scrum Master from July 2014. Prior to EVS, they had a four-month traineeship in C# at EVS in 2011. In 2010, Matthias briefly worked as a student at dCode.

Matthias Mertens began their education journey in 1994 at École de Beaufays, where they obtained a CEB degree. From 2002 to 2008, they attended Athénée Royal de Chênée, specializing in Sciences, and received their CESS degree.

Continuing their education, Matthias attended Institut Supérieur d'Enseignement Technologique from 2008 to 2011, earning a Bachelier degree in Informatique et systèmes.

In terms of additional certifications, Matthias obtained the Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance in February 2013. Matthias also obtained the Core Elasticsearch certification from Elastic in June 2015, followed by the Elasticsearch Engineer II certification from Elastic in April 2018. Their latest certification is MCSA: Web Applications from Microsoft, obtained in December 2019.
