Martijn Thijssen

Head Of Engineering - EVS Media Infrastructure at EVS Broadcast Equipment

Martijn Thijssen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Martijn is currently working at EVS Broadcast Equipment as the Head of Engineering for the EVS Media Infrastructure department, leading the R&D team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Neuron and Synapse product lines. Prior to this, Martijn was the R&D Manager at Axon Digital Design BV, where they also managed the Gilze R&D department and oversaw the development and maintenance of the Axon Neuron and Synapse product lines. Martijn has experience in project management at TOPIC Embedded Systems, where they managed multi-disciplinary product developments in the medical software, medical devices, and industrial systems domains. Martijn also has experience as a Project Leader and Lead Engineer/Sr. Software Designer at Topic Embedded Systems, managing projects for the development of software and hardware in the medical software, medical devices, and industrial systems domains. Martijn has also worked as a Project Leader at Omron Europe BV and as a Team Leader/Scrum Master/Senior Software Designer at Philips Research. Martijn started their career as a Software Engineer at Ordina, Philips ASAlab/PDSL, and High Tech Automation. Throughout their career, Martijn has worked in Agile and Scrum-driven development processes and has maintained compliance with ISO13485 and IEC62304 standards.

Martijn Thijssen completed their education history in a carefully planned and progressive manner. Martijn began their studies at Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1989 to 1993, where they pursued a degree in HTS Electrotechniek - Technisch computerkunde. Following this, they enrolled at Eindhoven University of Technology, attending from 1993 to 1996. During this time, they obtained a degree in Informatietechniek.

In addition to their educational achievements, Martijn Thijssen has also acquired some valuable certifications. In February 2021, they became a Certified SAFe® 5 Program Consultant after completing the program offered by Scaled Agile, Inc. Furthermore, in February 2022, they attended the Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop, provided by Management 3.0, which enhanced their skills in management techniques.
