Mohammed Farook has worked in the semiconductor industry since 1999. In 1999, they completed an Engineering Internship at ARM Automation. In 2000, they began working at Motorola Inc. as an IC Design Engineer/Electrical Engineer. During their time at Motorola, they worked extensively on the 65nm and 90nm SOI technology development for high-performance products. Mohammed also performed extraction, simulation and characterized various product testchip vehicles for design vs. silicon correlation. In 2004, Mohammed joined Freescale Semiconductor as a Sr. Physical Design Engineer. During their time at Freescale, they worked on physical design integration specializing in high performance, low-power processors. In 2015, they joined Cirrus Logic as a Sr. CAD Engineer - EDA/Methodology. In this role, they were responsible for chip level electro-migration and IR-drop analysis for the digital and mixed signal design for Apple products. Finally, in 2017, Mohammed joined Everspin Technologies as a SMTS Design Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for chip level design synthesis, PnR implementation, and Tempus STA analysis for the mixed-signal MRAM design.
Mohammed Farook received their HSC/HighSchool degree in Science from BAF Shaheen College in 1992-1993. Mohammed then attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from 1998-2001. Finally, they returned to The University of Texas at Austin and obtained an MSEE in Electrical Engineering (Circuit Design) from 2004-2005.
